No fancy 'staging' in this project!
Kitchen tiles are up, just waiting for grout!
Grouting done.
Not a very good picture but the subway tiles go to the ceiling for the splashback. Stove and rangehood will be between the windows!

Hubby would not have anything 'old fashioned'!
Concrete will be laid next Monday. There will be more steps from this level down to the front gate (that we haven't met yet). Can anyone recommend some good electronic gate people in Brissie? Our gates will have to come later. Our landscaper is going to pave this area in the same stone as out the back but in a 600x600 stone tile, to do something a bit different. We will have some beautiful pots in this courtyard area. I've yet to meet them but I know they are out there somewhere!

Wow!
ReplyDeleteLove your pendant lights!
ReplyDeleteWhat is your fireplace made out of?
Love the lighst - especially the pendants over the kitchen bench. I'm squinting at the stove area and see you've gone with plain subway - not herringbone looks good !! Sheila

ReplyDeleteLooks like everything is moving along nicely :-) You've selected some wonderful light fixtures. And I really like how you brought the backsplash tiles in the kitchen all the way up to the ceiling.

ReplyDeleteI think your house is just stunning. I haven't been to Brisbane since I was a little girl (mom is Australian; I'm American) but now that I read all these Australian blogs, I want to go back and visit again!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh it all looks lovely. So close now.
ReplyDeleteHave you used the same white all the way through? It is lovely in every photo but so different depending on the amount of natural light. I really like it.
Well done
Love Love Love all of your lighting choices. Where did you find such beauties? The dinning room chandelier and the laundry lights are my faves!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the finished house!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm having palpitations. The kitchen lights started them and then it was all over when I had another look at those gorgeous window seats next to the fireplace. It even looks like your house is going to be a pleasure to clean which I think is my ultimate compliment!

God, your house is so beautiful already that it's making me swoon. Can't wait to see it all finished & with furniture in it. Lee :)
ReplyDeleteMust be getting very exciting now. I love your great room... it just seems to glow!
ReplyDeleteLooking Terrific!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your lovely comments. It is all coming together exactly as I had imagined..... finally..... 3 months of coughing later! It's amazing walking through my original 'chicken scratch drawing' in real life. My most favourite thing about the whole house??? .... the light..... how every room is bathed in it, in different white hues, at different times of the day.... and to think I was worried at frame stage that I hadn't designed enough windows for the light! It's going to be hard putting up window coverings. If only we didn't have neighbours, I'd leave the window coverings out! The house has such a beautiful, serene feel to it. I soak it up every time I'm there. I find myself taking deeper breaths. It feels like it has been there forever....it already feels like it has a history! Even the random stone out the back looks aged. It is truly beautiful. A-M xx
ReplyDeleteYou must be exhausted and excited.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good. And I know you had such a hard time finding the pendant lights for the kitchen and I see you have some that look so good.
I'll be back to see more.
Ciao
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think Hubby was right. Love the kitchen taps.
