My Good Boys

It's school holidays here, for a glorious 3 weeks. My boys need a break. They presented me with the best report cards a mother could wish for.... and my big boy won a part scholarship for his school, through the National Scholarship Program, for his entire schooling, until Grade 12. I cried like a baby when they called me. It was like winning lotto!

Back in February, all my friends thought I was the cruelest mother saying, "son, you're 11 years old, it's about time you started contributing financially to your education. You are sitting the scholarship exam. Come here and we'll practise fractions."

Boys, I am bursting with pride. Living in a caravan, on the school oval, is far less a possibility in the future!... oh and little one, you are sitting it, in 4 years time.

p.s. my computer and your blog do not like one another. this is my upteen attempt in days to comment. if you see me 12 times in a row it is just me trying NOT to get the hated "operation aborted" message. Haven't a clue what the problem is, but it is SO frustrating...

  6. Congratulations A-M. It's just as much your scholarship as it is his. Well done to both of you. Have a great holiday. I'm heading to Brisbane for the Sydney holidays but you'll all be back at school by then. Have a great break from alarm clocks and deadlines.

  8. Congratulations to your beautiful boy A-M and to you too. Parenting is the hardest job in the world and when something wonderful happens like this - well, you know you have really made all the difference, because the greatest gift is education. xv

  10. Congratulations! What a win! Your boys look so lovely and calm A-M. I would have to sedate mine to stand still and together long enough to get a photo like that one! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Tracey xx

  11. Oh what fibs a photo does tell. They are far from calm, Tracey. The little one is a real bossy boots and never leaves the nice natured older one alone. He is always demanding to know where his brother is at all times....as a consequence.. report card said "needs to learn how to value other peoples opinions"!!!! Bossy, bossy, bossy! Thanks for your kind words, my friends. A-M xx
