Well after yesterday's amazing red dust storm, I am ever so grateful that I don't have white fabric sofas or anything really light coloured in terms of soft furnishings. The dust got into everything and is EVERYWHERE! I discovered that my French Doors are not dust proof. A gale was literally blowing in between the fully closed doors! ..... nothing that a bit of painters tape couldn't temporarily fix! I removed one inch of red dust off my piano and every other surface within cooee of the doors though. The air has settled since and I have another inch to remove today. The mop is going to get a workout today!..... and so am I.... a bit of unexpected incidental exercise!Deliberations continue over fabrics here at 'The House'. This beautiful Ralph Lauren lovely (above) is most likely going to grace my front porch chairs (which I haven't met yet). Hubby and I have our coffee on our porch in the mornings on our rusty old table and chair set. Can't wait to get some comfy chairs... fabric's on order but no chairs yet.... as you do, when beautiful fabrics are waved under your nose.
To save $, I have plain Roman blinds in all the upstairs rooms (bedrooms)... for now anyway. I thought it best to spend my interior budget on nice fabrics for the main living areas downstairs first. I have managed to source some new cushions at great prices online and I'm having the rest made.
These 'Ralphies', have been purchased for the window seats in the Great Room.
Close up of the fringe. The colours are a perfect match for the rest of the Great Room furnishings. The Great Room window seats have been covered in a durable outdoor linen in a block colour featuring these blues and hints of gold. These cushions will also compliment the Great Room Romans which have been made up in this gorgeous fabric below:

I found this darling little Osbourne and Little cushion for my chair in the study. Goes nicely with the black library and linen chairs and adds a dose of femininity in a very masculine room - hmmm, someone has taken over!
Lamp shade, for the lamp, in the media area - Rubie Green
Rubie again for the laundry door Roman. A happy 'washday colour'.
More Ralph for the Adirondacks that are heading for the little pool hut. They are still undergoing a paint job in the garage!
Purchased a little cushion for 'little ones' desk chair, from Ebay, in this Cath Kidston cowboy fabric. Can't wait to show you photos..... and so it continues........A-M xx

Oooh, I love all of the fabric choices and where you plan on having them all. It's a lot of fun I bet! I've been reading about this red dust. If it's anything like the yellow dust storms we used to get in spring in S. Korea then it will get into everything.
All gorgeous!! I love the mix of prints and stripes. I especially love that osbourne and little cushion.
I too discovered yesterday that french doors are not dust proof... cleaning the house of red dirt that my two puppies have spread everywhere, not fun.
PS. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment!
Am loving those RL fabrics, just gorgeous. I'm a huge fan of sis boom fabrics, always find something to love in that range!
Alicia
