Blogland.....

... is just magical. Look what was sitting on my doorstep when I got home yesterday. The most beautiful bunch of flowers from a reader, who knows I have been feeling poorly with my chronically, tragic lungs, and who just wanted to cheer me up. Lorraine... thank you sweet bloggy friend.....you made my day!! Every time I walk past them I scream, "look at my flowers"... scares everyone to death! I have never met Lorraine but I have gotten to know her through my blog and my previous online store.

Look how they brighten up my kitchen area... you'd never know the rest of the house has been packed up. A semblance of normality amongst the chaos.

Isn't this blog place wonderful. I received an email from another blogger, who I met last week for the first time - she says now that she has met me, when she reads my posts she can 'hear' them...I did have to ask her "is that good or bad"!!! I received a phone call yesterday from a country lady who just wanted to let me know I inspired her... no she didn't want to order my kitchen lights, like the 472 previous phone calls I received, she just wanted to say nice things. People are kind and good and generous and real here. I love how we support each other and share our joys and our not so nice things. You are a humorous, fun loving bunch too. It's truly 'addictive for the soul' stuff, this blogging. That's why I'm still here, every day... over two years later... for all those reasons listed above. I get so much out of this, out of my friendships with you and I just wanted to say thank you.

See Lorraine, your flowers have now brightened everyone's day!
A-M xx

  1. I am sorry to here you are having some health problems. I hope you will feel better soon. A little gesture like this from an 'unknow' friend helps, sometimes we even talk more with online blog friends then with some people in real live don;t we ;)
    Wish you all the best

  3. what a wonderful gesture - hope you re on the improve healthwise! ps i don't think moving house is too good for ones health in general. You are meant to be lying low when you are feeling under par. Probably not a big chance of that happening in your busy life so grab a rest when you can! KG

  6. Very well said A-M! I remember being too shy to leave a comment, thinking everyone must know each other well to be so friendly and encouraging! How funny, it has so pleasantly surprised me, it's a real ray of sunshine every day. Love you lots and hope you're feeling better - have you considered a dose of antibiotics? I had a bad chest infection for about 3 weeks and finally had to succumb to old penicillin..Rachaelxx

  14. What a beautiful post today A-M. There certainly is something about blogland, I liken it to having penpals around the world.
You must have a knack with keeping your bloggy friends, yours is the very first blog I found and got brave enough to comment on and still the first I click on every morning.
Take care of those lungs girl. I too am prone to chest ailments so am feeling for you. The best cough medicine I've tried is Bysolvin, fab for breaking up the gunk! x

  20. So sweet of Lorraine!

Blogland is just wonderful. You can connect with people from all walks of life & around the world and share the same interests.

I am traveling to Australia from Finland in July. Asked Charlotta of www.spaceforinspiration.blogspot.com if she could do a postingof her favorite spots in Sydney.

She has made me several part Sydney guide complete with maps and suggestions. Two parts are published and she has told me there are more to come... I will also meet her for a coffee in Sydney.

    Isn't that wonderful!

  21. As a "Blogger" new girl on the block I can't help but agree. At the end of the day it is so wonderful to retreat into Blogland (or is it world?) and replenish my soul with the the warmth and generousity of spirit which seems to spill from each new posting. You are my first ever blogfriend A-M and I am so pleased to have "found" you. Keep healthy and happy.

  29. Dear A-M, thank you so much for sending me the magazine! It arrived today, but the postman didn't want to leave it in the mail box with my regular mail because I wasn't home to sign the receipt. He left me a note saying that I will have to stop at the post office tomorrow, after 9AM to pick it up! I was happy it arrived, but mad at him!
Cant' wait to open the envelope. You are very kind to send it overseas, I really appreciate it!
    Take care!
