Monday

The contents of our storage shed?.... books... boxes of them. That's why I love this so much.

What a weekend. Time to regroup. Do you feel like that on Mondays? Total exhaustion. Wave those kidlets goodbye and take a deep breath. 'Husband That A-M Built' (that's what he is calling himself these days) is back in town, so we are taking some time out together this morning.. sort of like a 'coffee date'. Dinner dates don't exist anymore (due to the hassle that is called 'lack of babysitters') so 'daytime dates' are our only respite! We're going all out and doing takeaway coffees on the terrace, facing away from the gym! Here's the coffee now. Sigh!
Have a great day.

Feeling pretty blah this Monday morning myself A-M, so can totally relate to this post. And as for books, I still (after ten years!) have boxes of books stashed away in my shed - how shameful! I will say in my defence that those are the ugly old paperbacks though, not any of my 'good' books, but rather slack nonetheless. Enjoy your coffee date you two! K xx

Enjoy your date - My husband is so out-of-control busy with work I have forgotten what he looks like. I am hearing you with the babysitter situation - we had 3 no-kids functions on the weekend & the logistics to simply get to them was exhausting.

We have a similar problem, A-M. Most people don't believe Jason and I are married because we are forever doing a tag team to the functions we are invited to. Have fun on your coffee date.xx

I wonder what a coffee date would be like! I am just asking for 5 minutes with my husband and I think we would both be happy! Can't school start now?

I hear you. I too was looking forward to a bit of me time after dropoffs this morning. Daytime Dates are also the new thing in our house these days. Not so much because of babysitter anymore, as we leave our eldest in charge if we are not so far away, but more due to state of exhaustion by the time evening comes around. Enjoy your coffee and your week!

Oh I love that idea......Our days are filled with backbreaking sand moving, painting and gardening and a date with the tradesmen(hubby) would be fantastic....but you are right I am seeing a definate gap in the market for grandparent babysitters....Who told them to go and enjoy their twilight years I need them for my tradesman date...
I think coffee dates will be the new big thing. Thanks and don't forget the biscuits.

We do the coffee date thing too, or even sometimes lunch, now that the girls are at school and kindy. Even aside from the babysitter hassle, I'm too tired by the end of the day to contemplate leaving the house!

I love the 'book wall'. We're the same with books, comes from being an English teacher (oh, and avid reader of trashy romance novels, I might add).

Hi there..I love, love, love the image. I'd love to have that where our treadmill and exercise bike currently sit like two great big black lumps! (I do love my tready though..) As for babysitting, we struggled for ages to find one and now we have two brilliant girls. We found them through http://www.findababysitter.com.au (which operates in Brisbane too). One of the girls is a child protection worker and the other is a local 3rd year Architecture student. Both fantastic. Our life was so out of balance before we found them. No time with each other, little time with just the teens. It's made such a difference. Hope you're feeling more energised tomorrow..Rachaelxx

Love that image - it's funny, I actually bookmarked it last week as I fell in love with it when I saw it. Enjoy your coffee date - it's always nice to enjoy each other's company regardless of whether it's dinner or something else xx

now...babysitters...there's topic of much discussion - they are as scarce as hen's teeth( as my dear nana would have said) and in this highly stressful time, it makes tending to the relationship harder - my husband and I take our cuppas and sneak down the side garden where our kids can't easily find us!
anyone else find getting babysitters hard? I think all teenagers now work at Maccas instead!
