Monday Nook

Isn't this a great use of space! I love the bookcase and window seat. Interesting how they incorporated the wooden desk into the custom cabinetry. This nook would inspire me to work hard and keep a very tidy ship. Oh I am missing a dedicated work space....the kitchen bench and table are wearing a bit thin!

Speaking of inspiration....my latest exciting find.... the 'Decorating Forum'!  I've signed up for membership on their site (so I can put my 2 bobs worth in!) and their twitter account (so every time a new topic is posted on the forum, it pops into my twitter account). If only I knew about the forum when I was building my house! It's great to chat to members with similar interests.....some are building, some are renovating, others are making important decorating decisions! You name it, they discuss it.  I will live vicariously through them whilst I'm between projects and living my non decorating, minimalist, 'possessions in storage' existence! And Monday nooks?... yes I found a thread on office nooks HERE.
Enjoy! and Happy Monday!

Gee you must get up early!! I agree what a great use of space indeed. Not sure I could work in a hallway but I am picky. Still looks amazing though. xoxo

I love it too! The cabinetmaker has started our bookshelves (another 5 weeks to go!) so I'm busily searching for any ideas for the study - thank you for this gorgeous bit of inspiration. Leigh

Jane, I'm up early but crawling into bed just after my boys most nights...damn body clock.. doesn't even give me a sleep-in on the weekends! A-M xx

Love this...when I close my eyes and envision that area in our next master bedroom I am tossed up with this is what I see, a desk & a day bed...tempting!!!

Love the nook image. I also need a nook as the dining room table is not the answer. I did see a little writing cabinet but it doesn't fit the budget right at the moment and will probably be gone when it does - Darn! Oh well, that's life... ;-)

ps thanks for your comment about my reno nightmare last week - I really smiled when I read it :)

Love the 'non-decorating, minimalist and possessions in storage existence' desciption. It's my life too!
Very cute nook. Imagine being curled up there on a rainy day.
Just had a quick look at the decorating site. Thanks for the tip.
I clicked on laundry hamper pros and cons. I'm glad other people have this problem and it's not just me lol.

Hi A-M, Yes I love a good nook and, as I've mentioned before, I have several.
When I was designing houses, I used to try to give people little spaces like this but most of the time I'd just get a blank look from the bloke in the partnership who would be sitting there with his arms folded and his legs apart. I'm sure you get the picture!!!

I love the built in shelves and the window seat. I like to use every square inch (ok cms since we are in Australia lol) of our house. It's a pity the bloke didn't get it Pamela. I think it's a clever use of space.
Anne-Marie if you come up with a better solution than throwing the laundry over the staircase do let us know on the Decorating Forum lol.
