oh how I'd love a mud room!! We live in a 3yr old new 'throw up in 20 wks' brick home, bought off the plan(all we could afford) with no mud room.... not much storage space at all really. Anyone else out there find it odd that a four bedroom home Where you would expect at least 2-3chn might reside, has little to no storage space????frustration....

If there is, I want to live in it!

Rellies in country Vic have a mud room. So practical in locales that experience the four seasons.
The mudroom above is too nice!

Makes so much sense and certainly would put an end to the endless collection of shoes/flip flops on the front verandah! ;)Sharyne

Just add a flat screen telly & a beer fridge & MOTH & his disgusting work shorts & steel caps could live in this glorious room happily ever after!

Oh - it looks lovely! The only problem I see is that it is a bit narrow. Mostly kids, being kids, will kick their shoos off when they come in and everything will bottle up right in front of the door, making it difficult for the grown ups to get out when the kids put on their shoes. I think that the bench helps, but still- I predict that most of the action/clutter will be right in front to the door. So, my dream mud room would look much like this, but be twice as wide!

Oh how I wish I had space for something like this!

I had a fantastic time in Washington, the weather was nothing but fantastic and my days were filled with looking around and shopping (and taking TONS of pictures)! I already want to go back! :-D

I adore this! We're in the process of building our first home and it simply must have a mud room... With three kids and twins on the way it will hopefully provide a sense of order to the insanity!
Blessings.
