Roboraptor Included

Can't help myself. Coffee in hand, doing some Saturday morning 'realestalking' .... 3 million plus house.....wouldn't you think the photographer would notice the Roboraptor (dinosaur boy toy for those lucky enough to not own one) and suggest maybe it hide in a cupboard for the photoshoot and buyer inspections? It was the FIRST thing I noticed. Like creepy crawly pool cleaners left in real estate pool shots. Details, details... it's all in the details.

Pop over to Young House Love Blog to see their great strategy for last minute house inspections... I'm going to use their '2 garbage bag technique' next time for sure!

Happy Weekend!

P.S. Apartment update... those enormous noisy vents outside our apartment.... that have just started to make themselves known to us...... are the exhaust vents from the underground carpark!!! Eeeek!!They kick in when the fumes get too high down there. So the fumes spew out of the vents, bounce off the high walls surrounding our apartment and then find their way into our lungs! As if I need any more lung irritants! If we get out of here alive, I'll be smiling. Need to chat to my brother who is an Environmental Protection Officer. Cue nervous laughter!

  2. Yuck, seriously yuck. Exhaust fumes, just yuck really.
I have been real estate stalking too this morning. Port Fairy on the Victorian coast was my victim today. Can't decide between ye olde cottage or minimalist ocean views.

  3. Oh my gosh! Might as well live in the garage! I feel sorry for you, hope you can open a different window for now, until you find a solution.
    Take care A-M!

  5. Those vents.....I hope the summer months don't bring more and more noise and fumes. So you really are bringing the realities of living in an apartment. I used to think it would be so glamorous but there really is a reality you don't think about.
YOu are so right about inspections and photos.
I have been to inspections where the tenants and thats the issue have left underwear everywhere. Gross!!

  6. Wow, that was some great planning by the architect!

On a side note, for a $3 million dollar house, you would think they could afford more than that bookcase from Ikea. And maybe a rug.

  7. Only a fellow mum of a dinosaurphile would notice that - too funny! And yes, I've (mercifully) avoided having one arrive at our place (so far). I hope your brother can help you out - that hardly amounts to 'quiet enjoyment of the premises' (that's the lawyer in me - I would be checking out your strata's by-laws). Best of luck, you sweet girl. J x

  10. Realestate photos with pool creepy crawlies etc are a pet hate. It is as if the realestate agent doesn't really care. I would love to actually do this as a job because it really bugs me that people have no idea how to 'sell' their home by simple things like doing the dishes etc... That apartment sounds like it is getting worse... I am sure you are ramping up the realestalking to get out of there. Lets hope your treasure appears soon! ;-)

  11. HI A-M
Well I've been a little absent and just catching up on your goings on... my internet is USELESS where I have moved.. yes more rental woes!!.... I don't know how you are surviving in an apartment after being in your beautiful home... I'm now in a villa but strangely my last apartment was quieter.. and I am the youngest here!! hahahahaha...[reply nervous laughter!!] but the back neighbours are hell!!

The fire alarm must have been a lot of fun.. and the vent!!! arrghhh... amazing what people have to put up with...

Well your blog looks more beautiful than ever... hope you are well.. ciao xxx Julie

  13. You're joking? No one needs that sort of stress.. Who on earth designed this place you're living in? Hope it gets resolved for you..Rachaelxx

  14. I'm sorry, but the architect must have been on drugs...what's with these damn drum awnings???... with all this rain the hollow tin awnings above and below our bedroom windows are deafening in the rain... not gentle sounds like a tin roof.... but irregular deafening drum beats... add in the sewerage issues, the exhaust fans outside and now some sort of plumbing release 'roaring sound' every 5 minutes coming from the floor above... I can see now why, even though this building is new, they have a permanent work supervisor still on site, problem solving. I think these days, it's just get em up quick and make a quick buck and hope no one complains.... is anything built well these days? A-M xx PS Don't get me started on the door handles that fall off and the kitchen drawers installed so close to the walls that they scrape the walls every time they are opened!!!? Believe it or not, this is just another learning experience for me. I should start another blog, "what not to do when building ... anything".
