Food Stuffs

Mine - I don't think I even used my fork? What did I use?

Caught up for coffee with Amanda from Oliveaux yesterday. Look what we shoved in our mouths. Actually I shoved mine in as soon as it landed on the table and then realised I hadn't taken a photo of it. Thank goodness Amanda has more decorum than me and hers was still in one piece.

Amanda's - such restraint

Honestly..... the most divine chocolate moussey thing I have ever consumed. Right here in Bris Vegas - 'Chouquette', New Farm.

We almost had these.... as they sort of looked healthy.. but thank goodness we didn't. I tried to compensate the impending calorie consumption by ordering a green tea with it. The French owners would not hear of it and made me a 'knock your socks off, stay awake for days' coffee. Yep, thanks for that! You must go and try Chouquette.... it's wonderful. Oh, and don't eat before you go... like..... the day before you go.

I'll have to send my husband, he lives in Brisbane & loves a good chocolate mousse. We went to a French patisserie yesterday, The Flute in Fyshwick ACT & they have a triple mousse cake on a sponge base, hello!! To taste that i wouldn't eat for the WEEK before!! Now i feel like mousse for breakfast, love Posie

Hi A-M,

You have made my day leaving the comment for me on the post a couple of days ago! I have thought about my own blog, believe-you-me but my biggest hesitation is I would run out of things to say!!! Anyway, I'm glad Amanda and yourself indulged. Actually, seeing all the little cakes and tarts lined up reminded me of a bakehouse here (while I was a childless working girl!) The bakery owner was German and he cooked from possibly 4-00am to closing at 5-30pm. I kid you not and I can't begin to describe how absolutely amazing and tasty his cakes, pastries and pies were. There were nearly always people lined up outside his door, at anytime of the day. Hence to say we at work were in walking distance of the said bakery and it really was a no-brainer to find us there for morning/afternoon tea if the boss had worked super hard (nicest man you could ever met). And not to forget everyone's birthday in the office. I feel a sort of priviledge that I was lucky enough to taste his divine food! Hope you have a great day today to see the end of the week out!!!!
Take care
Janine

Oh no, my apple and paper cup coffee that I had planned for this morning's break will now just not do....! Chocolatey, sticky, gooey, indulgent sounds much more Friday!
Have a good one, x

It looks scrumptious. My plate would have looked like yours for sure - no holding back when chocolate is concerned.

Hi A-M,
It all looks Delicious, I am going in there tomorrow with my daughter so will definitely try this place. I have been reading your beautiful blog for a while now but haven't been able to comment (I think google hates me). Your blog is my first port of call every morning and I love reading everything you write (you've made me laugh and you've made me cry) and I think you have a really beautiful sense of style. Thanks so much for being a lovely start to the day. Cheers Robyn

Dearest A-M,
I am in shock (and very sad & worried).
I sincerely hope everything is ok - both with you and with your gorgeous family.
I cannot begin to tell you the joy, inspiration, education and love you have brought.
Miss you already,
