Gentle Industrial

Image Courtesy My Ideal Home Via Tumblr

I love the subtle metal accents in this beautiful kitchen..... the stool, handles, rangehood, vase and whatnots on the stovetop.

What would we call this?... 'Gentle Industrial' meets Hamptons? There are no rules... lets make it up!

I reckon the lights could hang lower, do you agree? Ikea has that exact style light in stock at present but in a chrome-ish look.

Love the barn door too and the wooden rolling pin wall display......a bit of 'country' thrown in for good measure. 'Country Hamptons Industrial'? 'Industrial Country'? Whatever you'd call it ....I love it all!

I think they might have shunted the islands around for the photo - they seem close together in a big kitchen. I sort of wanted all the styling to disappear too, so I could see the bones! Some lovely elements- is that natural light coming in the range recess? I'm with you on the lights being too high though, though they look like the real deal.

What I would give for a stable door...

Oh Trish, that makes it even better if the islands are movable! Up a notch for me now! A-M xx

Yes the lights look a little strange but who would have thought that rolling pins could look so good? :)Sharyne

Morning A-M.....I've just sat at the computer to read your morning post having just put a batch of scones in the oven - and here you have gorgeous kitchen photo! When I bake I feel close to my nana who has gone now, and all the lovely rolling pins on the wall near the door are a brilliant idea ( how can I make that work in my kitchen). Today is my 'day off' from paid work and I'm off to share a cuppa with a friend - hence the scones. Only the one load of washing today....it's going to be a real day off....hope your day is sunny too...Helen

Helen, Oh I can smell those scones from here. I'm off to have morning tea with a bloggy friend, a dear friend I met through blogging. Enjoy your real day off too! A-M xx

Yes, lots of interesting bits in this kitchen. Love the look of the rolling pins on the wall and the barn style door. Did you also notice the soda bottle collection on the bench. Have a lovely day with your blogging friend. It is so nice to actually meet in person. I was lucky enough to meet one yesterday too - such fun. ;-)

So many lovely elements here and they seem to work together. I do want to move that island bench 90 degrees though!

Beautiful Kitchen! Love the stove/rangehood area. Perhaps it can be called Modern Country?? I love your blog - such inspiration for future projects, even though my husband said there won't be any future projects, hhmmmm we will see :)

My obsession right now is kitchen islands.
Am planning a beauty for the next house. I get goosebumps thinking about it.
Love this 'Scandinavian industrial farmhouse chic' kitchen pic.
Agree, the lights should be lower.

I love this kitchen! I really like the industrial look of the metal but aged and battered a bit, mine could do with being a little less shiny. Hmmm.xx

Gorgeous kitchen- what ever you call it lol. You are so funny A-M:). I agree the lights should be lower. I would call it Hamptons Industrial Country:)

I love every bit of this kitchen A-M! Yes lower lights, but wish I had the ability to keep the floor that white with my 3 monkey's xo

Hi A-M,

Hope I'm not too late to comment on this posting! Love this kitchen also and it was featured in a magazine I have 2 or 3 years ago. All the pictures were stunning and I looked at it for ages. The way the owner put all the rooms together were very beautiful, different but also packed a punch. I agree with you, now that you have pointed it out...the lights could hang lower!! Have a great day
Take care
