People Do Nice Things ...

.. for me too!

A group/gaggle/herd of my bloggy/twitter friends (you know who you are and I love you to bits) gave me a rather generous gift voucher for Christmas. So firstly I bought the boys school shoes.... so I wouldn't feel so guilty when I bought myself this!...... cue choral music.....

Blurry but beautiful - note roses shoved in drinking glass for styling purposes :)

Totally influenced by Katrina (who is always announcing her 'Nespresso Time' on twitter), I bit the bullet and I am not looking back.

It fits so perfectly on my tiny little kitchen bench. I got the mini one. It is severely cute. I am addicted. Totally...... and I am not being paid by Nespresso to say that (mores the pity). My pretty Ada and Darcy teacups are the perfect fit and size for a home made skinnychino.

Sorry Alberto (favourite local coffee shop), you won't be seeing me for a while. My new contraption makes the best coffee! Big statement... but true.

Thanks girls (Lorraine, Katrina, Amanda, Annie, Rachael and Jane). I am so glad you spoiled me and then I spoiled myself... and the school shoes make it a totally guilt free indulgence!

PS. James total - $1003 :)

What lovely blog friends, amazing! We have the same little coffee machine and it really is the best coffee I've ever had. I have to drink decaf and I'd never been able to find one that wasn't awful. The Nespresso decaf is lovely. What's also wonderful is each cup of coffee costs less than 80 cents! Rachaelxx

Golly A-M. At first I thought it was a video camera with a shoe horn on top, perched on a parking meter - quite feasible as I never know what to expect on your blog these days :o) Said as I sip my cup of Moccona Classic - sorry to lower the tone! (Must look into them - love all your recommendations.) Deb xx

You have fabulous taste A-M - I have the same little Nespresso machine, and I love it! It was my mother's day present a couple of years ago, and I use it each and every day. My only gripe - the pods are a little hard to come by. But otherwise it's brilliant. Cheers to you and your new best friend - I'm raising my latte in salute as we speak! K xx

Have the exact same one - making simple things, like one's cup of coffee, a special moment in the day is a real life-enhancer! Enjoy.

I'm so pleased to hear that things are finally looking up for you, I have a feeling that your positive attitude is a big factor! I have a regular coffee machines and I love it to bits, it's so wonderful to be able to have great coffee any time I like, especially getting up after a long night with two little girls! I've heard great things about the Nespresso machines (including from my husband who works for a coffee company!), I'm sure you two will be very happy together :)

I have the same Nespresso machine and I just love it. It makes the BEST coffee and I'm yet to find a coffee shop that can replicate the yumminess (is that even a word?!) that is a Nespresso Skinny Cappucino. Enjoy xx

And I guess that the gorgeous Nespresso one himself George C. was lurking just out of shot A-M!!!

Even the non-coffee drinker in me is impressed, A-M! Gosh, life must be feeling so much more * civilised* for you now with power, hot showers and freshly-brewed coffee. Brilliant. J x

How wonderful of your friends! I've been drooling over those machines (and George's ads on youtube!). Lovely to hear the 'smile' in your posts lately too :) B.

My husband's (spoiled) work friend bought his second coffee machine (a Nespresso) into work. My husband is seriously addicted now too!

$930 for James. A-M you totally rock!!

Ahh, I hate my coffee machine it drives me nuts. Thank you for the idea. I will look into this and try and persuade Mr M it was his idea to give me one for my birthday. Good move with the school shoes.

Deb, I used to have a machine (with 50 million parts) that was more effort than it was worth. I gave it to our old babysitter (who has more patience than me) and have been living on Robert Timms coffee bags and 'floor sweepings' (instant) for years. This little beauty requires no effort. Take it from me, I am bone lazy when it comes to coffee making. Do it Deb! A-M xx PS. Stick insects still hatching!

Hi A-M
How lovely of your friends.
And what a great choice - I have one too and, (to borrow dear blogger Faux Fuchsia's line) "Luff it 11/10"!
It fits perfectly on my bench, looks cute and makes the BEST coffee. It is also small enough to easily pop in the car for beach-house holidays. I have had coffee from those very large machines and I really can't taste the difference (neither can my husband, and he is Italian!)
As Rachael of 'A Room for Everyone' said the decaf is equally wonderful (I can't drink caffeinated coffee after about 10 in the morning, or it keeps me awake at night)
My personal favourite in the range is "Arpeggio" (love the use of the musical term, too - the perfect match for you!)
Enjoy!
Take care,
Cxx

A-M said...

Oh Caroline, I have some 'Arpeggio' (C, E, G, C - couldn't help myself). I am going to make one right now! A-M xx

Ok, I'm so jealous, I want one! You should get something from Nespresso. I'm sure they will sell more because of you. In fact I'm gonna go check them out!

hello, I love a good present don't you?

Meanwhile how nice is this weather at the moment? Perfect for a spot of garden admin, brunch and having some girlfreinds round for a nice dinner. With cocktails. And superior puddings.

Hope all is well with you A-M xx

so good to hear that things are normalising for you and your family. Lets face it if we can just start the day with a good coffee we can face anything really.

The kids are excited the sticks are still hatching. We are down to 4 maturish ones. It's a bit of a nightmare really because we are bombarded by zillions of mozzies and when we spray we have to close doors or risk killing them.

Now, does the coffee machine do cappuccino? Without the choc dust on top my day would not be complete.

I am proud to BRAG, that I bought a Nespresso about 18 months ago (severe emotional crisis required new coffee machine) and I have influenced the purchase of same, by 6 other people.
For a non style, non kitchen, non cook, non design, non any sort of leader - that is really saying something about the Nespressos.

BTW, I am thinking that your skills are going to be really needed by some of the Flood victims needing inspiration and advice with design/decor/remodelling - reconstruction - renovating - repairing.

I will not be surprised if out of the many recent adversities for you and others, good things will come. A lot of people are going to NEED a bit of that A-M magic.

Cheers,
Louise

Good work for not spending all that generous gift on your boys. I bought my husband an nespresso machine for his birthday a couple of years ago and he says that I can never top that present. It gives me two wonderful coffees everyday (OK, so I really bought it for myself!) and is so easy to use. I love that I can instantly switch to decaf in the evening to stop me twitching all night! Enjoy finding the colour you like best!

Hi AM
I'm not a coffee drinker, prefer Tea myself, however a 'good cuppa' of whatever brew prefered can make and enhance any moment! Lovely to see you enjoying some well deserved personal reward! Thank you for your continuous inspiration, even through hardship.
