I totally love this!... and it is so simple.... my next home, I can see it now. B. K. A. N. B.
It wouldn't work as well if we didn't include Nigel/la and Brian/na.
Yes, you must now always include the lizards. They have been part of the journey now and probably helped in ways you will never know. I am constructing something very similar in my entrance, stay tuned for a post in the near future... ;-) P.S Have you got power now? I heard West End was now connected.
Yes Jenny, West End is now connected but our problem is not due to Energex but due to the fact that our electrical switchboards, elevator shafts and all utility control thingys were submerged completely as they were in the underground carpark which filled to the ceiling. They have to rewire and redo everything. All the large apartment complexes down our end are without power indefinitely as they all have completely flooded underground carparks where their utility controls were kept. Why? we are on the river... on a flood plain... obviously a design oversight. They are still removing layers and layers of silt underneath. It is a whopping carpark, with storage cages etc. It was all brand new and now it is a sewer! All the lifts have to be fixed too. Water was pushed up the lift shafts into the corridors... came sooooo close to our little place. Phew. I will tolerate cold showers with a smile on my face (grimace) as I am so grateful to still have all my stuff. I just think of those who only have a shell of a house due to having to have it gutted from the damage. I see the stories every night on the news... no house but still a mortgage.. and nowhere to live.. heartbreaking. A-M xx
Oh A-M! I love this! Dave and I started re-doing our entryway yesterday and I would love to do something like this above our hooks:) Thanks for the inspiration. Hope you have a lovely beachy weekend with those gorgeous boys. Hugs ~ Txx
Had forgotten this idea. Have seen it before, but not with the different kinds of lettering. I like this nine the best. How about having a "G" for Guest as well?
Will need to get a bigger residence before I add a guest hook! We are living so small at the moment, there is nowhere for me to go if the boys are watching tv... hmmm, bed or outside! not forever. a stepping stone in my life! A-M xx
Very cute idea AM and it works so well with the Bench seat. And what is it about apples...they always make everything seem happy, fresh and hopeful to me. Hope you have a lovely day, the weather is so perfect today. xx Katherine
Hi A-M, We haven't met properly, yet, I was introduced to your blog via Tina's when you needed uplifting words, which I left behind, but I can imagine that you don't know me from all those lovely messages you received. And then came the flooding....I read your post (made a little link to you, so people could give some positive words to you) and what kept going through my mind was your first sentence ("i don't know what to do but blog..") and since then I keep thinking about you and your boys. I truly hope that you will keep finding the strength and energy needed, to keep smiling and building your new life. All the best, from Switzerland, Maureen x
I know what will be on Brianna and Nigella's hooks, their handbags... every female lizard needs a handbag! And in their handbags will be a lizard essential - moisturiser for dry/scaly skin :) Jxx
Can't wait to see the tiny hats, coats & bags Nigel/la & Brian/na hang up there. Still think you should be find some quirky vintage lettering & do the A-M for yourself. Love Posie
Gorgeous idea A-M! I've been looking at coat hooks for ages for my laundry (mud room) and I really love the idea with initials. I hope you get the power restored very soon, can't be much fun having cold showers. Thinking of you all xo
Yes I love the simplicity as well A-M. Yesterday for the first time in a month I clicked on to my blog and you were the first blog I saw, you put a smile on my face to see you there. I have missed you A-M. May this year bring you and your boys all the happiness that you all deserve. Lots of love and hugs. Mimi xxx
This is where I muse about home design, interiors, my life, my boys and stuff that sort of stops my heart. I have an online store full of my favourite Hamptons style lighting over at www.capecoddesigns.com.au ... and ... I'm currently planning my next house build.
It begs the question - what item of clothing will be hung on the "N" and "B" hook? (LOL) ;)Sharyne
ReplyDeletePS - LOVE the William James quote - so true!
