  1. No WAY! That's too scary to fathom. I just keep praying it will get smaller and not hit or something! Qld has dealt with enough...

  2. This is very scary, the wind has picked up and rain has started. Just made honey joys for the kids who are busy playing and not noticing how stress their their mum and dad are.

  3. Just shaking my head, tears pricking my eyes. Let's just hope the next 24 hours goes quickly and it's not as catastrophic as predicted.

  5. It stops your heart doesn't it? Just have to hope that those in its path have been able to evacuate safely. What a thing to have to wait for...

  6. Dear A-M, I just look at these pictures and feel very frightened. I am hoping that all the preparations are going to be sufficient and if property is lost and damaged, no one loses their life. It is almost too stressful to think about.

  7. Errrrrk, I really needed to see that at 3:30pm here in Townsville. Tee Hee. Nothing we can do now, all the preparation is done.

Prayers and lots of them, that's all we can offer now.

  14. Sobering and terrifying - an illustration of the vastness of Mother Nature's wrath and we can do nothing to stop it.

How do hurricanes dissipate? *Do* they ever just miraculously dissipate? ...Because you've already had more than enough to deal with so I'm maybe extremely foolishly hoping for some kind of a last minute miracle, not just for Queensland, but for everyone, everywhere in that part of the world who may be in her path.

  15. Again the unfathomable is about to hit QLD. It is beyond comprehension for me. I sit here safe in NSW on the mid coast, yet my heart is palpitating out of its' chest in fear for all in Yasi's path.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  16. The news showed hospital patients being evacuated from Cairns hospital, many are elderly and very frightened. Our emergency services are 100/10.
I just feel so sick about this A-Mi. What has our beautiful Qld done to deserve these dreadful events?

  17. OMG it is so surreal, can't believe it's happening. I have many friends in Cairns and their messages by the hour have me so worried. I can't fathom it.

And to think this time next month, I will be a Cairns resident :(
