Can you believe the size of this cyclone (Cyclone Yasi) which is just about to hit North Queensland tomorrow/Thursday?
It's almost the size of the whole of Queensland.
5am 2nd Feb: "SEVERE TC YASI IS A LARGE AND VERY POWERFUL TROPICAL CYCLONE AND POSES AN EXTREMELY SERIOUS THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY WITHIN THE WARNING AREA, ESPECIALLY BETWEEN PORT DOUGLAS AND TOWNSVILLE.
THIS IMPACT IS LIKELY TO BE MORE LIFE THREATENING THAN ANY EXPERIENCED DURING RECENT GENERATIONS" - Bureau of Meteorology
It has now been upgraded to a category 5, the highest level of storm categorization.
