Pretties

Oh look, there's me taking the picture!

Didn't really bring much back with me... except a few things for my soon to be online store (which is sort of taking forever... but these days I just roll with it... minimal stress). I did of course get the customary 'Tour Eiffel' and a few little limoges porcelain pretties, which now take pride of place on my bedside table. Can't you tell I used to have an online bling store. Hey, if anyone wants to meet me at the shed one day, I have a few buckets of jewels going very cheap! Now there's an idea... a 'shed bling party'!

I'm styling up a big house before it goes on the market next week, so I am spending the rest of the week in the shed, packing and sorting. Lots of goodies have arrived from the fairs which will go straight into the house. It's a Cape Cod style house so I am going to be in my element, creating interesting little corners and vignettes...... after I have dragged all the big pieces in!  So a bit of hard physical yakka for the rest of the week... jet lag and all. Yes, it's 3.50am and I have been up for hours, worse luck. East to West was a cinch, West to East, not so good!

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Morning A-M - I've found myself up at the crack of dawn also this morning (in fact dawn hasn't even shown up yet in this part of the world yet!) The shed "bling party" sounds fabulous - wish I lived closer. You'll be pleased to know that the crystal beads are getting a thorough workout - not a day goes by that I haven't got those beauties strung around my neck. I'm beginning to get a reputation at school as "the lady in the office who wears those sparkly beads!" Can't wait to hear more about (and perhaps see photos?) of your styling project. Have a great day! ;)Sharyne

  2. Oh yes...me too! Although my beads will stay firmly tucked away in the drawer today because I intend to repaint my laundry today. Not exactly painting attire me thinks!

Jet lag is a pain. We only had to adjust to 3 hours difference and even that kept my kids up half the night. They only got that sorted and we had a one hour change due to daylight saving...bummer!

  4. Oh, I hope you will share some pics of your styling? Especially since it is in the Hamptons look. I love the little Eiffel Tower on your bedside a cute reminder of your trip. And a shed bling party sounds like a bit of fun! Have a nice day. ;-)

  5. Morning A-M, I always enjoy reading your blog with my first morning coffee! A shed bling sale, perfect, count me in! Your image this morning reminds me of my breakfast bench, every afternoon I whip off my bling before entering the kitchen and leave it all in my pink and white collection of little jugs and sugar creamers. It looks so pretty (especially in contrast to the dishes before they all go into the dishwasher).

  9. Good afternoon - you can tell I am not a morning person and enjoyed an extra long sleep in this morning lol. However, I would be up with the crows to join you for a bling party in the shed:). Your little treasures are divine. Thanks for showing us.
And please give us a link to the big house when it goes on the market:)

  11. Welcome home A-M what a wonderful adventure! Hope your body clock adjusts soon. Count me in for the "shed bling party!" It sounds like my kind of thing. I love a bit of bling - mostly sourced from the $5 wall at Diva. The new accessory store Adorne at Carindale has stunning, affordable pieces too. I must admit my bedside table now sports my own little attempt of a "vignette" as inspired by your blog an incredible twelve months ago!!

  17. Ever since I was a child I've loved little collections of bling. :)

Those roses are heavenly - like great big swirls of whipped cream.
