Happy Winter

1st June - officially winter... well theoretically in these parts. I stopped for a moment yesterday afternoon and pondered the fact that we still have our living room doors flung wide open.... way into the evenings. The afternoon air is still mild so the doors stay open.

It is a bit chillier this morning though.... maybe because it knows it's the first of June?

I am a winter girl. Leggings, boots, scarves. I love the cold...like real cold... like not the cold here... which isn't really cold at all. 'Daywear' still involves peeling off the morning cardigan by lunch time here  ... but I will take whatever Brisbane winter has to offer this year....snuggled under a blanket now... so off to a good start :)

Happy Winter!

It knows it's winter here too, A-M, just over the mountains from you. It was 12ÂșC in our bedroom this morning, brrr, probably because the french doors had snuck open by themselves overnight! gxo

Can't say I am a big fan of winter (even in Brisbane)but I do enjoy the fashion side of it. Have a good day! ;-)

Hi A-M!

Just as I'm going to bed on the other side of the world, I'm reading your posts from the next day. You're facing winter when we're looking forward to summer. Strange, but the rest of the world isn't far away any longer.

Love that picture!

Good night from a place where the sun never sets at the moment :o)

And I recall you pondering if you would be able to handle a -30 Alberta winter? I think you can and you'd love it (and look fashionable as well). Come and visit soon!

XO,
Andrea

The grass is always greener they say! We are just beginning to get frosts...3 this week and wake up to the ground white which is pretty but 0 degC outside isn't condusive to getting up in the mornings. On the plus side the days are still warm and the doors and windows like yours are still open during the day...quite unseasonal for this time of year!

The only thing I like about winter is the kids winter sport and even that gets tedious when it is damp, cold, grey and muddy!

HMB, already on my first course of prednisone for the lungs. Actually not too bad this year... usually they fail at the beginning of March so I have had a good run so far. Boys bought a great lung bug home from school and it got hold of me immediately! A-M xx

We often head to Victoria in winter to visit family so we can get a good dose of really cold weather and yes it's bitterly cold at the bottom of Aus on the coast!

How gorgeous are those little teacup cosy thingamies.

Me again. How did I miss yesterdays post? Probably too busy emailing politicians :)

I love the lights A-Me as I have every other light fitting of yours and have been soooo tempted to purchase but had to wait for the reno to proceed and stand back to determine what designs will work. My philosophy is the fixtures are the jewellery to finish off the outfit. As our new abode is very open and maybe a bit industrial looking I've gone for glass fittings to add softness. Am I making sense?
These lights will be perfect for the right interior and I love the design.

beautiful, oh so beautiful! I'm not much of a winter girl, but what I do love about winter is curling up on a couch with a cozy blanket to watch a movie!

In Canberra it's been frosty for a long while...I like the cold as long as I'm wearing a good coat, hat and boots!

It's always so strange for me to see you embracing winter in your hemisphere when we are gearing up for summer. It was very hot here today, so as your winter chill hits the air, a little heatwave is upon us. Maybe if I get too warm I'll pop over for a nice cool rest!

Feels like winter here too, and it really shouldn't.

If I had a white tea cosy - or cup cosy - it would last about a second before I dribbled tea into it. This must be Art!

Happy winter to you too. We had a finger numbing crisp white frost this morning. Ole Jack Frost has well and truely left his mark in our part of Victoria. I would love to be peeling off layers. We are concentrating on throwing another log on the fire.
I wonder if the running is helping your lungs? I am sure pink soccer boots would also cheer then up.

It feels amazing to me that you have "winter" now - that pic is just wonderful too! :-)

If people think the Brisbane winter is a bit exaggerated try going to North Qld. When i lived there as a child winter meant putting a jumper on (24 degrees) and a really cold winter meant putting stockings on too (20 degrees)

Oh you Queenslanders and your faux winter!! I am so jealous. Can't think why we're voluntarily moving to Melbourne, Brisbane next perhaps...

Ann, don't be. There's more to life than the weather. Melbourne is the bomb.. it's all grown up and so exciting. I'm jealous! A-M xx
