How Time Flies

Reflecting this morning on how fleeting childhood is.

I have received quite a few emails from readers remarking on how fast my boys have grown up before their eyes, on this blog. I am coming up to year 5 of my blogging and yes, they have changed!

My big boy is a young man now. He makes me jump at times as for a brief second I don't recognise his deep voice. It's all very new, this young man phase.

In the blink of an eye.

Happy Saturday!

My boys are now living in the UK and i have my girls at home still. I can't believe my youngest boy has just turned 20. I miss them terribly and would do anything to turn back time. Cherish every moment! Life is fleeting. You will turn around and your boys will be towering over you. They are very handsome indeed.

I am with you A-M, with a blink of an eye. I can't believe my son will be 18 next year, a little scary! Enjoy your weekend. Mimi xx

Oh my! They have grown! Look at those chubby little legs. Do you miss it? I will! Mine are growing so fast too. I wish we could pause them. x

Oh I miss the chubby legs. Mine are both so scary skinny, especially the little one. I wish I could pause at times but then getting to know them over and over as they get older is wonderful. I don't know how many times I have said over the years, "oh, I love this age". A-M xx

it does happen in a blink doesnt it?!! My boys are pretty much the same age as yours A-M, and i still have a picture of them on my desk at work that was taken around the same stage as these ones of your two. I can still see them that way, but when i pick them up after work, they're so grown up!! makes me teary when i realise how quick it is happening!!

I remember when my boys sprouted up, looking at them too low down and having to raise my eyes to their faces. It took awhile, but now I'm used to tall, deep-voiced, hairy creatures being around.

A-M I had these same reflective moments yesterday about my two eldest girls now 13 and 10 and couldn't stop staring at images of them in their princess costumes when they were 6 and 3...precious moments oh so priceless, when I first saw the image of your youngest my response was "oh look at the little legs" doesn't it just melt your heart. We truly are blessed. Have a lovely weekend xx

My eldest is doing Movember. I know he's 24, but now he looks so grown up. I'm not loving it...

AM, so true time flies when you are having fun!

Haven't got to the deep voice section in any of my boys life but it's not far away.

They look so cute together at this toddler stage; doing the big brotherly push on the swing.

Bet they are still tight, forever.

Lou ; )

Hi A-M..I had to double take...I thought this may have been a recent photo & your little one was pushing a friend or cousin on the swing! They have sprouted! My son is 10 & is nearly the same height as me. He is a lovely natured boy...I love him dearly! Fiona

Oh man they were cute!

I was holding a friend's newborn today and having flashbacks. My youngest is three in a couple of weeks and has turned the corner to being a little boy. Makes me sad at times but I am enjoying seeing him change and develop a big personality.

A-M it doesn't change as they get older and older. For me, at the moment, it is so hard to believe that my baby has just had a baby! My youngest son (26) and his partner Natalie now have the most gorgeous baby boy Archie...he's nearly 3 weeks old! Both my boys tower over me (the eldest is 30), but no matter how old or how big they are, they still love their Mum, which is nice. Memories are great to reflect on how much they've changed, but you now get to do so many great things with them, even when they become 'independent'. I had my boys quite young, and I'm now only 48, so I have all the same things to enjoy with Archie as he grows up. The boys and I even went to Japan together, just the 3 of us, in 2008. We had a ball. Enjoy every minute, they'll go through a stage where you can't do anything right, but when they need you, they'll come a'runnin...T

There's something about little boys that just tugs at my heartstrings. Yours seem so close and like such good boys.
