I blame the book. My little daily meditation book said, "do something fun today".
"If you're relaxing, let yourself relax, without guilt, without worrying about the work that is undone..... Today I will do something fun, something I enjoy, something just for me. I will take responsibility for making myself feel good."
Can't argue with 'the book', even if it was a Monday and a work day and my inbox was full.
I took myself off to the movies, watched the world go by in a coffee shop, while eating a big slab of carrot cake, hung out in a book shop and bought this little set of 'City Walks With Kids In Paris'. I am living 'as if'...... as if I WILL be doing those city walks with my boys, sooner than later! Somehow. So that little box, plonked on my desk, is my sort of my vision board.
I must admit I spent the afternoon/evening actioning my inbox... so much so that the kids stayed in the pool until dark and they were all wrinkled..... but I fell into bed happy..... and so did they!
It's so good to do something really nice for yourself.
Happy Tuesday!

Good on you A-M, nothing better than a little time for yourself. Enjoy today! Mimi xx
ReplyDeleteIts the dreams that keep us going some days. Nice to hear you are being very kind to yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely 'guilt free' day. You were meant to have it so you would come across that special box for your vision board. It was the start of your dreams coming true.......
ReplyDeleteWe should all stop & take the time to even be able to realise our dreams.
I have a book 'kids in Paris' that has sat in my top drawer for the last two years that I see every day maybe I should sit it on my desk so the universe can see it ?

Yes! You lady of all people should be doing it more often for yourself. Do it guilt-free. I'm proud of you!
ReplyDeleteXO,

A-M life is giving me lemons at the moment. Sometimes your posts are so perfectly timed. Thank you
ReplyDeleteGo you.....I have to say I am impressed as its not something I think I have ever done. I do however have a monthly massage booked in. Now that is my indulgence.
ReplyDeleteSoo, Paris....a research trip for tax reasons maybe? xK
Good morning AM, Could you recommend some titles of books you you have read over the last 12 months that have helped you in your challenging times please. Wow your boys must finish school at the end of the week and what a way to end with a nice hike in fees and camp levies. Can't wait for my boy to finish later in Dec as his teacher has been not the best, she is uninspiring and has no clue about boys and doesn't even try to understand them. I now believe our decision to send him at a private boys school is the right one for secondary education. Have a fabo day AM Love Nataliexx
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the kind of day I need...except it will have to wait coz the little man only starts primary school in the new year. For now I just relish in the few hours a week I get on my own in silence. And reading blogs!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love those kind of days, AND you need them every now and then. You achieved nothing but it is actually something!!;)
ReplyDeleteJust splendid, A-M. Your little book is very wise. J x
ReplyDeleteI have that box too! I live in hope.
ReplyDeleteIf you keep seeing it and dreaming it. it WILL happen. x
ReplyDeleteLovely A-M...thanks for reminding us to have some fun in our day!
ReplyDeleteWe all deserve day like that on occasion!
ReplyDeleteI am a full believer in listening to your instincts when they tell you to slow down, take it easy and "recharge your batteries". As we speak I am definitely due for a tune up..lol! It is so important to clear our heads, and its amazing how we feel when we do...ready to take anything on!
ReplyDeleteoh well I'm up for that for sure! great idea, thanks for sharing your daily mews with us AM, you are a reliable trouper, no doubt about that!!! xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteGood for you A-M!! We all deserve moments like that and I thought the idea about the trip is a very good one!
