Now, I am the first to hyperventilate when I see built-in storage in a home...... but there's something about a pretty cupboard or armoire.... placed somewhere for maximum effect ...that sort of stops my heart.
This is so simple, yet so pretty. It just finishes the room. I like the combination of fluffy white towels and baskets. I am so incorporating a glass-fronted towel cupboard in my next place. Somewhere.
This would be perfect.
... or this one.
It's got a bit of iron thrown in ...
for the whole 'Industrial Hampton's French' look.... that's all the rage now.
How about this gorgeous one?
No glass in the front, but I can just see this on a beautiful stone floor in a coastal home.
... or this gorgeous Oak number.
...or this pretty 'French-ish' one.
... and this one, from Villa Maison, has always stopped my heart.
It is no lie that anything from Villa Maison stops my heart.
If they had a shop here in Brisbane, I'd be running it. Do you hear that Ellie?
They're all available from me, at Cape Cod Designs :)
Special order.
Delayed gratification.
That's how I explain the 'wait times' in this industry.
It's positively cool out here on my deck this morning. Look, the river is a millpond... oh no it isn't... a lone rower has just broken it's glassy surface, just as I loaded this photo up. For a millisecond there, it was perfection. We're off on our bikes again this morning. I know. Overdoing it. Like kids with new toys. But there is nothing better than getting outside. There are even ads on TV now suggesting that kids might like to get outside and enjoy the real world. Tragic. Sort of modern 'Norm - Life Be In It' ads I suppose. Anyway, we're doing our bit. I'll take some photos and share.
Thanks for stopping by this week and putting in your two bobs worth. I love to hear from you.
Happy Sunday!

You guys are really making great use of your bikes and I bet you are feeling the benefits! My bike needs a service pronto... then I can start cruising around like you.
I know what you mean about in-built cabinetry and I do love it but I also love a stand alone piece too. Some of those stand alone pieces just make a beautiful statement of their own. I love it when you find something that is unique and something that your friends or family don't have in their home.
Enjoy your morning with your boys

Happy Sunday lovely! You are making me feel so bad with those bikes! Good on you xoxo
I love the last cupboard, it is gorgeous! I do like these types of cupboard for books also! x
Lovely pieces AM to start the day with. Thankyou. I am trying to get my crew up and out of bed to go to a caravan and camping show. It's only 2 1/2 hours away. I am thinking of bribing them with mcmuffins. Happy Sunday.
Love these cupboards. They all look wonderful. I also love built in storage that can hold just about everything. A friend has just done a major renovation at her home and, apart from her kitchen cupboards, has no storage whatsoever. I couldn't live like that, I need to be able to put things away in their proper home, not have towels stacked in the robe in the bedroom.
But hey, we're all different
Have a great ride with the boys...sounds like it's perfect weathr for it
Kids playing outside? Seriously? Now there's a novel idea... ;)
Love the glass-fronted cupboards - if only I had a tidy family, I could have one. Alas!
Armoire Heaven........

Its decided we are defiantly all getting bikes for Christamas
I am kind of forced by default to love stand-alone storage as my old house doesn't have anything that would even vaguely resemble a built-in! These are particularly beautiful pieces though!
Dear AM,
I love the Linen Cupboard post, as I've loved all your posts over the years! Your positive attitude and daily musings are such a delight to read.
We started our blogs around the same time but I 'parked' mine because life became too busy. You, however, have inspired me to get it out again.
Oh - and I've been lucky to have seen some AMAZING linen cupboards over the years! I once saw an extraordinary mahogany-lined linen cupboard in an old, 52-room mansion in NSW. It still had all the marks on the brass tags (on the drawers) from where the servants used to constantly open and close them. There was also a 'luggage room', filled to the ceiling with old Louis Vuitton steamer trunks. Beautiful.
All the very best,
