Well I think it sums you up perfectly. I think I will also steal it along with everyone else. All the best for a wonderful New Year to you and the boys. xx ;-)
Hi A-M, that is so true for you. I'm sure you are looking forward to hopefully an easier year ahead. Mine would be that " creativity brings happiness". All the best and happy new year! Cheers Fiona
It's been a rollercoaster of a year for us with highs and low moments. Just sitting here reflecting on 2011 reminds me how each and every year I handle whatever is thrown my way. So my wish for 2012 is to retain the ability to keep bouncing back!
Yes you are super strong A-Me, probably more than you realise. Here's for a great start to 2012 for your precious family. xx
Thankyou A-M . I will need this saying, as 2012 is going to be the year of being strong for me. Wishing you & the boys an amazing year ahead that you all deserve. Karyn x
Thank you for a wonderful year of posts A-M. I am a new reader who admires your creativity and also your resilience. Well done on making the most luscious lemonade with the lemons presented to you!
What I am most inspired about (apart from of course your fantastic design aesthetic) is your relationship with your boys - I think you are doing a wonderful job and you should be very proud.
Looking forward to wonderful posts from you in 2012.
Thank God this year is over! Today is my wedding anniversary it will pass and tomorrow will be time to start a new life. Have a good year A-M you are a remarkable young lady and your strength this year has been a lesson for me xx
Hi AM Thanks for reminding me - that was my last thought for 2008. My how time flies. Your quote has reminded me of a quote from Steve Waugh the Cricketer is his autobiography "I have come to believe that you have to experience the depths of the valley to appreciate the views from the peak. Strength of character and the will to prevail and ultimately succeed are forged by the trials and tribulations experienced along the way. I have come to learn that life wouldn't be as enjoyable if it was always easy and that personal growth comes from having to move out of your comfort zone. It is the challenge itself that provides the environment in which you can fight and struggle- and ultimately prevail". I held on tight to this quote in 2008 and it became a mantra for me and boy is it true. Thanks heaps of reminding me of this AM as life does get busy again and we tend to forget things we have learnt. Have a wonderful New Years EVE and 2012. I can't wait as this will be the first New Years our son has been allowed to stay up til midnight to see in the New Year with his mummy and daddy. God help me tomorrow!! I would love to meet you one day AM. All the best and love to you and your boys. Nataliexx
You need to wrap your arms around youself today & give yourself a big, big hug 'cos girl you are AMAZING! You have handled your Annus Horribilis far better than I've handled mine dear A-M. I'm done with the being strong all the time stuff, I just want to go against what's expected of me, throw myself down on the floor & have a giant hissie fit!! Here's to a better year for us all in 2012. Love Millie & MOTH xx
I like that way better than a New Year's resolution A-M , and a good reminder that you HAVE been strong, and that is the foundation for you and your family for the coming year as things evolve. And they will.
Of that you really are. Reminds me that it is worth it in the end. Here's cheers to a great new year filled with wonderful moments and exciting times. Fiona
Natalie (and Steve Waugh) are right. It's not the good times that shape our character, it's the tough moments. You should be proud of yourself for surviving 2011, and doing it with such grace, dignity and elegance. You are one extraordinary woman. If you only knew how many people admire you! I'm looking forward to reading more A-M inspiration in 2012. Hope you find somewhere lovely to stay when you go back to Brisbane. If you were in Melbourne, you'd be welcome to stay with us for as long as you needed. Wishing you and the boys all the best. Hugs from here. Janelle McCulloch
Hi Janelle, Don't you just love what Steve Waugh says about surviving challenging times. I just love it. Happy New Year to you. I'm in Melbourne too - it's a stinking hot day isn't it. All the best to you and your family. Love Nataliexx
2011 is a reminder of how fast time flies by. It is also a reminder that I can start something new and change it up, never stop learning. It is a reminder that great friends are priceless and like stars, you my not see them all of the time, but they are there no matter what. Thanks for being so awesome. Sending you a big hug. Happy New Year Sista! 2012 is going to be powerful and awesome. Love, Heidi
I think 20112 has been a tough year for most of us A-M...but strength and character shines through in the end. Take care of yourselves and have a wonderful January. Lesley xx
It seems like many of us had a challenging year in 2011. I am another of your blog followers who also had a horrible year. Starting with no.1 son rushed to hospital with appendicitis, followed by no.2 son two days later, motorbike collision, followed 2 days later by father in law perforated bowel. We were dxon first names with triage at local hospital. Whilst visiting sick and injured our house was burgled. They stole so many personal memories. In march 2011 whilst driving home from work with son and daughter we were hit by a freak storm, my car became entangled in live electrical wires had to be rescued by fire and emergency. In April while away in Vietnam no. 1 son wrote off my car, he hit a powerpole, thank god he was ok. Whilst in Bali we experienced earthquake, buildings coming down around us,again all ok. December my husband made redundent! Roll on 2012. Year of the rabbit not so good for some! Thanks AM Your daily blog has made me realise that our year wasn't as bad as other people experienced. BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR GUYS. JD - JANESBROOK
This is where I muse about home design, interiors, my life, my boys and stuff that sort of stops my heart. I have an online store full of my favourite Hamptons style lighting over at www.capecoddesigns.com.au ... and ... I'm currently planning my next house build.
Yes you certainly are strong!
ReplyDelete2011 serves as a reminder that I can do anything if I just try!
