This morning, a 'nook' from the Villa Maison showroom, featuring my favourite chair in the universe. Sorry Suzanne, but it is officially my favourite now too! Big statement ..... but true.
There was much discussion on why we're all so enamoured with this chair. It's traditional... but it has attitude. It's pretty... but tough. French... but industrial. Classical...but with a kick....and it is seriously comfy.... and versatile. I reckon these beauties would even pop with a super modern table... even a perspex/glass number. You think?... with a gorgeous chandelier floating above?
So a little taste today of my post tomorrow... where I will bombard you with a million images of my afternoon at Villa Maison, here in Melbourne.
My last day in Melbourne. Lots to do. Even more to do when I get home..... I'm moving in less than a week. I am trying not to think about it. It's ok. I'm all packed. Decluttered and donated like there was no tomorrow. Just the fiddly bits to go.
....and I have promised my boys we will tune the piano after we move. It was last tuned 6 moves ago. I know. I thought I could get away with it. Even the children are complaining now... "ouch, Mum, it's a whole semitone out here". They're both doing piano exams this year so it's about time I had the thing tuned.
Happy Monday!

A very fine and stately chair indeed. May not look so good with Spaghetti bol though!
Yes, I think it would be only too kind to tune the piano, poor boys. Enjoy Melbourne.
Deb, you're so practical. Hadn't even thought of the spag bol. or the soccer boot prints! A-M xx
Your piano will love you for it ;-) We looked at similar chairs for our new dining table but as we're still very much in the "wipe down" stage, trying to keep these clean and/or washing covers for them every week would have done my head in. Ah Melbourne ... I can feel you now ;-)
I hope they're everyone's favorite chair, if every house had these chairs the world would be a beautiful place, lol x
Hey Suzanne, so lovely to meet you! Just as well I don't work in that beautiful showroom. I would spend my days lolling on all the beautiful sofas planning on how I was going to spend my entire pay packet on furniture and pretties. A-M xx
