Quick post today as we had a ridiculously late night last night and I have to drag my very 'sleeping' boys out of bed. One of my lovely blog readers gave us free tickets to the World Cup Qualifier (Australia vs Japan) last night. Thank you so much Olivia! It was fabulous! We were sitting down the Japan end. Much excitement. The Australian crowd participation was woeful.. no chants,... maybe an occasional "oi, oi, oi" whimper... but nothing really . I don't think they were a 'soccer crowd'? Nothing like the Roar games participation. Thank goodness for the little Japan contingent... although Japan really need to get more creative than "Nippon, nippon, nippon". 2 hours of "Japan, Japan, Japan"... c'mon guys! My bedtime earworm is still going... "nippon, nippon, nippon". We drew - one all. Nail biting stuff.
Oooh, it's cold this morning. I don't really want to get out of bed... and I haven't heard a peep from my soccer lads. This is going to be a challenge.
Happy Wednesday!
Cold! It is only 7deg C here this morning and that is a warm start, try minus 3 to wake you up. Our high today will probably be less than your sunrise! I guess it is what you get used to though.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, you look like your boys.
Oh that's cold! Yes, funny that they look like me. You should see pictures of my Gran on my Mum's side. Gran, Mum, me the boys... all the same nose, mouth and chin... strong genes. On the other hand, my boys also look like my brothers did at their age. I do a double take sometimes, as it was not long ago that I was living with my youngest brother when he was a teenager, and my big son sounds like him and has the same mannerisms as him. It's rather lovely. A-M xx

DeleteLovely photo! I was wondering if you could comment on your blog re some painting pointers. I am currently doing a bathroom reno with white tiles on walls and marble floor tiles. The tiles dont go all the way to the top as I have 13foot ceilings, so I am going to paint the wall in between in dulux Grand Piano. Should I go 1/8 strength on the cornice and ceiling or do the cornice and ceiling in Dulux natural white? What is the current thinking? Also do you think chandeliers in bathrooms are too much? Thanks again for a beautiful blog
ReplyDeleteLeah, my personal preference is always to go with crisp white contrasting trims and ceilings. Wrt chandeliers in bathrooms, depends on your ceiling height and proximity to water .....as there are rules in Australia that govern how close you can have light fittings to sources of water: http://www.build.com.au/bathroom/bath/bath-regulations. I desperately wanted a chandelier above my bath and one outside on the terrace near the pool.... both were a no go wrt Australian rules. I had to do the dreaded down light above the bath and a candelabra chandelier on the terrace :(
